Platinum Angelfish
Juveniles have approximately nickel size bodies. Mediums have approximately silver dollar sized bodies. Platinum is the most recently discovered major angelfish mutation. It is a recessive gene that causes the fish to have a greatly increased amount of blue/green iridescence as it ages. With a Gold, which is what this line is derived from, it also removes the expression of orange coloration. We have a very limited number of Platinum Genotypes where each F1 carries one Platinum gene. It take two genes for the trait to express, so you won't see the results of Platinum in these, until you raise fry from them. 25% of the fry will have the two genes needed to see the trait. We are creating these genotypes to see what the expression of Platinum will be when mixed with other alleles. The first cross was to a solid orange Koi. The resulting F1s include, Koi, Sunsets, Gold Ghosts, and Gold Marble Ghosts. There is a mix of veils in this group. Here's your chance to get this new genotype breeding as quickly as we do. We will not make this cross again. |
